Levofloxacin HCl is the hydrochloride salt of Levofloxacin.  It is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic and the optical S-(-) isomer of Ofloxacin. The compound is a DNA gyrase inhibitor, and has been shown to inhibit topoisomerase IV.  Levofloxacin is freely soluble in water.
